APTV-WCPTV NETWORK COMMENTARY ON THE NEWS:ELECTIONS 2003

(Undated)...There's good news and there's bad news to report on local elections 2003.

First for the good news.

Danbury Board of Education Vice-Chairperson Ellen Morelock, a Republican, has been denied a re-election bid to serve

another term. Also, Democrat Warren Levy has lost his bid to continue as Danbury Common Council President.

Now for the bad news.

That's all part of fair and balanced reporting.

Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton, a Republican incumbent, was re-elected for a second term, despite the fact

that he refused to confront "controversial issues."

Why did Mayor Boughton refuse to debate Democratic challenger Tom Arconti in more than one public debate?

More importantly, why did Mayor Boughton demand to appear on USA TV Talk Live with Al Bruhn and then

refuse too?

Look at some of the interesting political characters behind Mayor Boughton including

former Danbury Democratic Mayor James E. Dyer, who was in trouble with the law for his involvement

with the Danbury Fair Mall development during his administration; former Ridgefield

attorney and current Danbury Republican Town Chairman Wayne Baker,

a political turncoat, and former Danbury Democratic Committee

Chairman Joe Walkovich.

Yes, it could be "political soar grapes" for Dyer, Baker and Walkovich. What's their take?

APTV-WCPTV Network has video of Wayne Baker, when he was a strong Democrat in the mid 1980's!

Enough for Danbury.

Now for Ridgefield!

Marty Heiser didn't have a chance.

Ridgefield is filled with self-centered opportunists who only care about themselves, period!

It's the same old story from the 1990's, and that is to do whatever has to be done to sell those

million dollars homes.

Incumbent Democratic First Selectman Rudy Marconi is a "looser" in the real political sense of the word.

Why did he refuse to allow voters to cast a ballot on whether or not to bailout the town Board of Education from

a projected 1.5 million dollar deficit?

Answer?

Rudy Marconi is a looser in that he has never held a regular job outside of his father's gas station,

and sold out to the developers and bankers.

And, who do the developers and bankers do business with in town?

Ugly!

APTV-WCPTV Network will allow a Ridgefield resident to investigate Rudy Marconi's past and expose

him on USA TV Talk Live with Al Bruhn when the facts are known.

And, by the way, there's good news in Ridgefield too.

Democrat Bob Cox has been elected to the Ridgefield Board of Education. He's a retired Ridgefield High School

teacher and a controversial one too.

Just wondering why Ridgefield Board of Education Chairperson Linda Bunyan, a Republican, decided not

to seek another term in office.

Could it be she couldn't bear to answer for her schoolboard actions over the years with former Superintendent

Dr. Jeff Hansen and company?

Stay tuned here for latest developments.

Bottom line is the fact that Danbury and Ridgefield voters lost out when they voted for

the incumbents.

That's all part of fair and balanced reporting.
